In the summer of 2021, we had the pleasure of sourcing fresh Michigan Black Currants from a local family farm. They knew something we have long been preaching -- Black Currants love to grow in Michigan. They were kind enough to sell us two individual varieties of Black Currants, including Blackcomb. Blackcomb is a single variety black currant mead. Blackcomb black currants are very large, sweet, and among the best currants for eating out of hand. Slightly less acidic than Titania, Blackcomb currants pack a flavorful punch of citrus zest, pine, and anise.
