This black currant mead was aged in an ex-Armagnac cask that was subsequently used to finish bourbon. With no char and less oak influence, this cask aged version of 'Black Agnes' is more nuanced and subtler than its bourbon barrel aged cousin and softer than the original. Aging in this 350-liter cask allowed for more control, giving us the opportunity to explore extended aging of 'Black Agnes' without the bombastic influence of new or charred oak.
